MSP No. 5 – SMS Prinzess Wilhelm
SMS Prinzess Wilhelm was a protected cruiser of the Kaiserliche Marine launched on 22 September 1887 and commissioned on 13 November 1889.
In January 1895, SMS Prinzess Wilhelm was assigned to the Ostasiatische Squadron. It was in this assignment that she participated in the initial occupation of Kiautschou in 1897-1898, and in the Philippine Crisis of 1898.
In 1899 she returned to Germany, where she served until being struck from the naval register on 17 February 1914.
