Automatically rotate & crop stamp scans
If you have any questions, recommendations, feature requests, or bug reports, please use the contact form in the footer if this page to let me know.
Also, if you have an scan which you’re unable to successfully process, please let me know. If you send me the scan, I can usually find the correct settings to make it work. It also helps greatly in futher development of the app, as it lets me know what need to be improved and what new features might help avoid similar issues in the future.
Crop
The app detects stamps by looking for color differences between the stamp and the background. If the background is not solid – as when a stamp is scanned while still in a stockpage or other storage medium, the app can have difficulty detecting the stamp.
The crop feature lets you select a smaller area in which the app should look for the stamps, allowing the app to find stamps that would otherwise be undetectable to the app.
When the crop toggle is pressed, you can then drag rectangle around the desired crop area. When you release the mouse button, the resulting cropped area will be re-examined by the app for any stamps contained within.
If it detects multiple stamps, the green bounding boxes will be shown identifying the stamps. If it detects a single stamp, the single stamp will be processed and displayed on-screen.
