On 20 August 1920, Danzig issued this set of overprints with values in Marks. The stamps are overprints of the German Germania series.
Two types exist of the 1 1/4 Mark to 10 Mark values — those with points of the burelage facing up (Type I) and down (Type II).
Type I (top) & Type II (bottom)
This series differs from the later Mark Overprints in the color of the burelage — bright lilac gray (MiNr. 41-46) versus light (green) gray (MiNr. 26-31).
