Serbia
In April 1941, Germany invaded and occupied Yugoslavia. Following the victory, Germany divided the former Kingdom of Yugoslavia into smaller administrative areas. Among these was Serbia, which was placed under German military administration.
During the occupation period, Serbia issued a large number of postage stamps. Common themes include the people of Serbia and scenes from around the country.
The German military administration lasted until October 1944, when the Germans were forced to withdraw in the face of the advancing Red Army.
