1908 Overprint Issues
Due to differences in currency conversion rates, it was more expensive to send printed matter and merchandise mailings from the German Post Offices in Turkey than from the post offices of other European countries operating in Turkey. To remedy this imbalance, the German Postal Administration began issuing stamps in exchange for Francs, and on 8 August 1908, produced this issue with overprint in the French currency.
