In June and July 1900, the Keetmanshoop post office ran short of 5 Pf stamps. As an interim measure, the post office substituted bisected 10 Pf stamps (MiNr. 7).

Genuinely used copies can be found only on postcards bearing an arrival postmark. Those on a cover or on a postcard without an arrival postmark were created for philatelic purposes.
