Airmail Permission Stamp
On 18 April 1942, the Third Reich first issued this stamp for air military post packages. The 1942 issues (MiNr. 1 A) are found in three varieties — smooth gum (x), horizontally-rippled gum (y), and vertically-rippled gum (z).
The 1943 issues (MiNr. 1 B) feature rougher, sawtooth perforations, and are found in two varieties — smooth gum (x) and horizontally-rippled gum (y).
Imperforate varieties also exist in two gum types — smooth gum (x) and horizontally-rippled gum (y).
