Quisling Issues
On 1 February 1941, the Quisling government issued the first stamp of this series depicting Vidkun Quisling, Minister-President of Norway under German Administration.
The next day, the second stamp of the series was issued to commemorate Quisling’s first day in office. This second issue is identical to the first, with the exception of the overprint “1-2-1942”.
On 26 September 1942, the final stamp of this series was issued to commemorate the 8th meeting of the Norwegian National Unity Party. It is identical to the original issue, except for the addition of the inscription “RIKSTINGET 1942”.
The 30 Øre surcharge on these issues benefited the relatives of Legionnaires killed in action.
