This series was issued on 23 December 1941 to support the Walloon Legion.
The stamps were issued in sheets bearing the inscription “TIMBRES DE FRANCHISE DE LA LEGION VOLONTAIRES WALLONS CONTRE LE BOLCHEVISME”, or “Franchise Stamps of the Walloon Volunteer Legion Against Bolshevism”.
Several printing errors are known, including this MiNr. III variety which is missing the red printing.

The stamps were also available in imperforate sheets, though the imperfs are much rarer.

Finally, Ministerblocks were printed featuring all four stamp designs. Michel catalogs two versions of the Minister blocks, though this copy appears to be a possible third variety.
