This series was issued on 4 October 1935 to support the Deutsche Nothilfe charity program.
The stamps depict regional German costumes:
- 3+2 Pf — East Prussia and Merienburg
- 4+3 Pf — Upper Silesia
- 5+3 Pf — Wine Grower from Rheinland
- 6+4 Pf — Lower Saxony
- 8+4 Pf — Kurmark and Heinersbruck in Spreewald
- 12+6 Pf — Black Forest
- 15+10 Pf — Hessen and Marburg
- 25+15 Pf — Upper Bavaria
- 30+20 Pf — Friesland and Watt
- 40+35 Pf — Upper Franconia

Throughout the 1920s and 1930s, Germany issued several sets of stamps to benefit the Deutsche Nothilfe and Winterhilfswerke charity programs. In conjunction with these issues, the Reichspost posted advertisements depicting the stamps and encouraging patrons to purchase them for the benefit of the charity.
